European VitreoRetinal Training School 2013: Call for African Participants

Monday, 18 February, 2013 - 14:25
EVRS logo

Aspiring young vitreoretinal surgeons in European countries do not as a rule receive structured formal training in the form of a ”vitreoretinal fellowship”. The European VitreoRetinal Training School is designed to partially fill that gap. It provides young vitreoretinal surgeons direct access to expert experience through lectures, discussion groups and live surgery. It is a 2-week high-intensity teaching course covering all aspects of modern vitreoretinal surgery.

Cost and Pre-Registration

Registration for the European VitreoRetinal Training School will be limited to about 50 participants. The cost to each participant will be €3300 which includes the course, course material, all breakfasts, lunches, 2 communal dinners and 10 nights (shared double room) in the Hotel Munte.

Subsidy for African Participants

Participants from poor sub-Saharan African countries (excluding South Africa for example) will be offered a subsidy and only have to pay €1300 for the whole course plus their travel expenses (usually about €700 from any place in Africa). Total cost would be roughly €2000. For more information, please write to Priv. Doz. Dr. med. Klaus Lucke, MB ChB
