IAPB member organisations meet in Council once a year. The Council of Members meeting is held over two days in September/October in a different location every year. It is normally preceded by IAPB Board and Committee meetings, and includes the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Collaborate and engage
The Council of Members meeting provide members with a key platform to forge new collaborations and strengthen existing partnerships. At the meeting members will be able to hear reports from the IAPB board, regions and staff on our work across the globe, contribute to the development of our strategic direction, learn and share together in workshops and breakout sessions, and informally network over lunch and drinks.

Members have also formal responsibilities when meeting in annual general meeting (AGM) during the Council of Members, such as appointing trustees, approving the audited accounts and endorsing the appointment of the auditors.
Members can send any number of staff to attend the meeting, but each organisation only has one vote, exercised by its named representative.
The next Council of Members will be held in Beijing, China, over the week 12-16 October 2015. The Council meetings will take place on 13 and 14 October. More information will be available soon.
