Lifetime Achievement Award

Mr Christian Garms receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012

The Award

Since efforts in the 1970s by the late Sir John Wilson, amongst others, to unite the many groups working in blindness prevention led to the inception of IAPB and of the global movement for the prevention of blindness and visual impairment, many other individuals have provided exceptional contributions over their lifetime to the achievements and milestones of our global campaign.

The IAPB Lifetime Achievement Award aims to give prestigious recognition to those individuals who have led and inspired generations of eye care practitioners through their lifetime committment and dedication.
