GBD Super Region Map & Estimates of Vision Loss

In 2020 in the High-income GBD Super Region, there were an estimated 74 million people with vision loss. Of these, 3 million people were blind.

  • Location: compare up to three different GBD Super Regions.
  • Time: look at trends in the data between 1990 and 2020.
  • Age: look at vision loss in 10 year intervals from 50 to 90+.
  • Cause: look at how different eye conditions cause distance vision loss. Cause data default to adults 50+ as most data is from this group.
