Pioneering Research in Rwanda’s National Eye Care Services launched

Vision for a Nation Foundation has contracted with the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine to conduct a major impact evaluation of Rwanda’s national eye care services.
This first-of-its-kind study will focus on the primary eye care services that are now provided at every one of Rwanda’s 502 health centres as a result of the charity’s support. The research is being funded by UBS Optimus Foundation with results to be published in 2017 and 2018.

Vision for a Nation awards a grant to accelerate the development of smart phone-based eye care tools

UK charity Vision for a Nation, which runs a ground-breaking national eye care programme in Rwanda, today announces that it has provided Peek Vision, the London based start-up, with accelerator funding of £50,000.

Peek (Portable Eye Examination Kit) enables health workers to examine and diagnose eye diseases using a smartphone, which could potentially revolutionise the way eye care is delivered worldwide.

Dr Adrian Hopkins Awarded MBE
