Join a powerful, unprecedented alliance for better eye health for all.
Join IAPBWorld Sight Day is on Thursday 13 October 2022
Our theme is:
Nearly everyone on the planet will experience an eye health issue in their lifetime and more than a billion people worldwide do not have access to eye care services.
To address the bigger picture at the country and global level, we need to be aware of our own eye health.
#LoveYourEyes was so successful in 2021 we have decided to keep this theme for World Sight Day 2022.
#LoveYourEyes is all about being aware of your own eye health and if you are able to, get a sight test or recommend others do the same.
Our eyes can also tell us so much about our general health – scroll down to explore how to #LoveYourEyes and learn more about your own eye health.
We have some exciting plans for World Sight Day 2022, so please watch this space for more announcements.
In the month leading up to World Sight Day, we wanted to get over 1 million people to pledge to have a sight test or care for their eyes.
Together with our World Sight Day Global Partners, IAPB Members, those across the eye health sector and thousands of individuals we smashed our target and achieved more than a 3.6million sight tests.
A big thank you to everyone who made a pledge.
Find out what you need to do to prevent sight loss, and to protect, preserve and prioritise vision.
The 4 ‘P’s to love your eyes
For World Sight Day 2021 we asked IAPB members, patrons and the whole eye health community to join our EVERYONE COUNTS Global Challenge.
But if EVERYONE COUNTS we need to not just think about what we can do about our own eye health, but need to raise awareness of those around the world who don’t have access to vision care.
The World Report on Vision showed us how important eye health is to the world achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
