The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists’ (RANZCO’s) mission is to drive improvements in eye healthcare through education, communication, collaboration and advocacy across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific.

RANZCO is focused on its commitment to best patient outcomes and quality education and training. This work is underpinned by ensuring evidence based decision making, leading collaboration nationally and internationally, and supporting collegiality throughout all stages of trainees’ and Fellows’ careers. Its mission will be delivered upon by way of five strategic priorities: education, advocacy, member engagement, standards and college activities.

RANZCO’s international development strategy is based on need, working in several countries across the Asia Pacific region where significant proportions of visual impairment occur. The College’s goal is to contribute to the reduction in avoidable blindness and vision impairment by taking a leadership role in ensuring high quality ophthalmic education and professional standards for eye care in the Asia-Pacific region.
