Regional Chairs discussion at Beijing Council of Members - October 2015

IAPB is now accepting nominations for Regional Chairs across its seven regions, to start their term at the 10th General Assembly in Durban, 27-30 October 2016.

Regional Chairs are voluntary positions leading IAPB’s regional activities. Regional Chairs also serve as Trustees on the IAPB Board.

  • Read a full role description: in Word or PDF.
  • For the broader IAPB Board Terms of Reference click here.
  • Click here for list of countries by region.

For each region, candidates must be nominated by an IAPB Member based and/or operating in the region, and seconded by another. Nominations will close on 10th April

Members will then be able to vote online in each relevant election according to their base and/or area of operations (e.g. Member X headquartered in Region 1 and operating in Regions 3 and 5 is eligible to vote in regional elections 1, 3 and 5).

A list of members’ regional footprint and voting representatives as per our records can be accessed here – do let us know whether the details we hold are not up to date. All IAPB formal notifications are sent to the named representative; member organisations are then free to decide whether a different staff member exercise the actual vote in any given election.

Candidates’ bios and statements will be made available in the run up to the ballots so that members may make informed choices.  For contested elections with more than two candidates, a preferential voting system will be used.

Nominations are accepted via the online form below. Please note, the form includes a 500-word statement by the candidate supporting his/her nomination, so make sure to have this handy before completing the form.
