Mexican Society of Ophthalmology (SMO)

To keep together all professionals who have the necessary authorization, issued by the competent authorities for the practice of Medicine and the specialty of ophthalmology in the Mexican Republic, as well as the groups dedicated to the specialty.
To ensure the exercise of the profession and specialty in terms of the corresponding legislation and the scientific and ethical principles that guide medical practice in our country, based on the Code of Ethics and Professionalism of the Association.
To promote and disseminate by any means, the knowledge of the medical specialty, through printed or electronic publications and the realization of permanent and periodic updating events such as academic sessions, courses, congresses, colloquiums, practical workshops, etc., aimed at ophthalmologists, doctors in general, optometrists, optical technicians and the general population.
Coordinate, advise, contribute and endorse groups and associations dedicated to the teaching, study and practice of ophthalmology, as well as collaborate with higher education institutions.
