64% of all people with vision loss live in South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia & Oceania

The GBD super regions Southeast Asia, East Asia and Oceania and South Asia are home to 52% of the world’s population, yet have 64% of the global burden of vision loss. Conversely, the High income region has 14% of the global population, yet is home to only 7% of the global burden of people who are vision impaired.
