In collaboration with the Queen’s University of Belfast, LV Prasad Eye Institute is working on a suite of studies to explore the impact of vision care on the global level to achieve the sustainable development goals in low and middle-income countries. The study recently received a grant award from the Wellcome Trust UK. A few other collaborators from the USA, UK, UK, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and India including, the George Institute of Global Health and NIMHANS Bangalore from India, are a part of it. The larger aim is about evidence-based policy changes in ensuring better mental health for the aging population, safer streets (lesser accidents), enhanced financial resilience and improved learning opportunities for children. For this purpose a Project Manager is being hired.

The principal aim of this post is to lead the successful planning and implementation of the ENGINE (Eyecare Nurtures Good-health, Innovation, driviNg-safety and Education) suite of Wellcome Trust-funded trials in India, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. The Project Manager will assist in coordinating the four Trial Management Groups, as well as Trial Steering Committees (TSCs), Data and Ethics Monitoring Committees (DEMCs) and also the Executive Steering group (ENGINEERS).

The position is based out of Centre for Public Health, School of Medicine, Dentistry and  Biomedical Sciences, Queen’s University of Belfast.
