Eye Health Hero: Ogechi Cecilia Chukwu

I am nominating myself for the Eye Health Hero awards, 2021 under the future leaders category. I am a passionate optometrist whose utmost desire is to help people maximize their vision.

I have been the world sight day focal person for Cross River State Nigerian Optometric Association , Nigeria for over 4 years now and have actively planned and participated in world sight day activities over the years.

I have partnered with some local NGOs to carry out outreaches and offer eyecare services to rural dwellers in some communities in Cross River State and Imo State, Nigeria.

I have also collaborated with some radio stations here in Cross River State, Nigeria to offer on air eyecare awareness programs.
