SEE International envisions a world free of preventable blindness where quality eyecare is accessible to all. SEE works to break the cycle of hardship caused by blindness and visual impairment, making patients, families, and communities healthier and stronger. SEE’s comprehensive approach to global blindness involves four initiatives:

  1. Taking direct action through vision screenings, treatment, and sight-restoring surgeries, both locally and in more than 40 countries around the world;
  2. Educating ophthalmologists in resource-limited environments to perform Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery (MSICS) to enable cost-effective treatment for high volumes of patients;
  3. Advocating for vision health and educating individuals on the importance of comprehensive vision care;
  4. Investing in sustainable programs that address inequities in vision care and create viable pathways where ophthalmologists can balance the need for revenue generation with humanitarian care.
