One of our greatest challenges this year was how to describe an event where people “attend in person”… a year ago it wasn’t an issue and 6 months ago it wasn’t a possibility! Certainly the Roundhouse event was a great way to wrap-up a successful global week. Great to be able to do it with people in the room and with a networking event afterwards.
Special thanks to our partners in crime, Vision2020 Australia who worked with us to deliver panellists from Glaucoma Australia, Centre for Eye Research Australia, University of New South Wales and Save Sight Institute. Of course, this was also a Western Pacific event, so it was terrific to have audience participation from Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand. See photos
Another cherry on top to mark World Glaucoma Week, was the significant cross-over of March 8, and we were particularly pleased to have posts from three of the Western Pacific’s female glaucoma experts. Sangeun Nho from Project BOM on How Digital Technologies can be used for glaucoma screening; Associate Professor Monisher Esther Nongpiur from SERI published on the screening changes that have been necessary during the pandemic. Professor Dr Liza-Sharmini Ahmad Tajudin Senior Professor and Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist Universiti Sains Malaysia wrote about the gender differences in glaucoma presentation.
All in all a successful week for us.
