Summary: Beyond Eyes – Integrating vision into the Sustainable Development Goals.
This webinar will bring together leaders from within and beyond the eye health sector to discuss the positioning of eye health as an integral part of the development agenda. Focussing on the SDGs and the Decade of Healthy Aging, the session will consider the re-framing of eye health as a broader development issue impacting not only health but also education, employment, equity, poverty and other SDGs. It will share intelligence and learnings from advocacy at the global level helmed by The Friends of Vision Group of Member States at the United Nations. The webinar will feature leaders from different stakeholder groups, that may include governments, NGOs and alliances, and private sector active on this agenda, showcasing successful examples of working together. It will include discussion on the integration of eye health into the development discourse and agenda from global, regional to national levels, as a critical component of advocacy to reach ‘eye health for all’.
