In 2013 The Fred Hollows Foundation commissioned PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) to develop a framework that could be used to estimate the global cost of eliminating avoidable blindness as well as the monetary value of the benefits that would potentially arise from eliminating avoidable blindness and vision impairment.

PWC produced a series of reports, including national case studies for Pakistan, Kenya and China. The findings are summarised in the Investing in Vision report below.
