Stream 1 


Title:  School Eye Health Programmes – moving forward with integration and collaboration
Attendance:  In Person and Online
This session will explore:

  • challenges that face school eye health programmes from a funding perspective, especially with the Covid-19 pandemic
  • the advocacy efforts to integrate school eye health into school health
  • integration of school eye health into school health – the challenges and opportunities
  • what does a public-private partnership mean – experiences and examples

Title: Snapshot: Gender Equity in the eye health sector – 2021
Attendance: In Person
This session will:

  • share headlines from the 2021 gender equity in eye health survey of 90 IAPB Members
  • show comparative results with 2020 results and how the eye health sector sits against Global Health 50/50 survey

Title: 2030 Insight – Tackling Refractive Error
Attendance: In Person and Online
This session will:

  • provide an overview of the contextual factors influencing the approaches to tackle refractive error
  • discuss approaches to creating and implementing an operational framework of the 2030 Insight in areas relating to refractive error discuss the role of innovation in achieving our goals
  • discuss steps that have been taken by IAPB and members to form the Clear Vision Coalition

Title: Data & Evidence
Attendance: In Person
This workshop will:

  • consider the data and evidence needs for achieving 2030 In Sight.
  • draw on the evidence and gaps in evidence detailed in the Lancet Global Commission for Global Eye Health and the recently published Grand Challenges.
  • discuss evidence needs and stakeholders in evidence pipeline.
  • discuss how can we work together to drive, produce and use evidence to improve eye health for all.

Title: Environmental Sustainability in Eye Care
Attendance: Online Only
This session will explore:

  • impact of climate change on eye care
  • eye health sector’s contribution to climate change and the important role we can play
  • steps we can take to implement environmentally sustainable practices
  • tools that can help you and your organisation take environmentally sustainable steps
