Join IAPBThe Tulsi Eye Hospital team, which includes trustees, management, employees, and LAICO professionals, assessed previous service performance to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its eye care services. In March 2025, they held a six-day intensive workshop to develop a three-year Strategic Plan 2025-28. This has resulted in strategic improvements in patient communication, cost recovery, quality, and service uptake.
Tulsi Eye Hospital was founded in 1994 and uses a special cross-subsidization strategy to perform 20,000 eye surgeries a year, 10,000 of which are free for the economically disadvantaged, and these patients receives free medical care, transportation, accommodation, and food under this approach.
With state-of-the-art equipment and a skilled clinical and managerial staff, the hospital will serve patients from eight districts in North Maharashtra. It offers care in a number of specialities, such as cataract, cornea, retina, glaucoma, paediatric ophthalmology, and Oculoplastic. Up until June 2025, Tulsi Eye Hospital will have screened over 0.60 million patients and operated on over 0.25 million. The hospital is dedicated to its goal of eliminating preventable blindness by using state-of-the-art technology and a strong community-driven strategy.
