Integrating into local Primary Health Care systems

To sustain the capacities and services, we are providing primary eye care training for community health workers (CHWs) and nurses supporting community and school screenings, encouraging and maintaining community referral network, as well as conducting community eye health education to local trained CHWs so that more unreached patients could be reached and the services could be sustained.

The involvement of LGU and participation of stakeholders will also be strengthened for them to support the continuity of eye care programmes and integrating eye health within mainstream health care and making it affordable; by involving the LGUs to provide health care insurance to the 3^rd and 4^th quantile of the population.
