In Recognition of Its Outstanding Contributions to Supporting Regional Programs for the Elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases. The Neglected Tropical Disease NGO Network (NNN) has announced KKESH&RC’s official membership in the global network. This recognition acknowledges the hospital’s leading role in combating neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and promoting eye health both regionally and globally.

The Network welcomed KKESH&RC’s inclusion among its members, commending its extensive expertise and distinguished contributions to supporting regional programs aimed at eliminating NTDs, particularly trachoma, one of the leading causes of preventable blindness worldwide. KKESH&RC plays a pivotal role in leading and coordinating trachoma elimination efforts in the Eastern Mediterranean Region by hosting meetings for the EMR Trachoma Alliance and serving as the Alliance’s Secretariat in recent years.

KKESH&RC also provides advanced scientific and technical expertise in specialized treatment and care, and works to strengthen effective partnerships and integration with governmental and regional entities to ensure that health programs align with national priorities across the region.

This membership reaffirms the hospital’s commitment to international collaboration and sustainable partnerships in support of global efforts to combat blindness and its underlying causes. It also highlights Saudi Arabia’s role as a key supporter of global humanitarian health and research initiatives, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in the fields of health and sustainable development.
