Noor Dubai wins first place in Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Award

Noor Dubai Foundation, a member of Mohammed bin Rashid Global Initiatives, received first place in the Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Prize for Best Charity Performance in the Arab World in the category of medium-sized corporations for its outstanding contributions in the field of prevention of blindness and institutional excellence.

The award ceremony was hosted under the patronage of the League of Arab States in its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt and the event was attended a number of Arab ministers and ambassadors in addition to representatives of Arab charity organizations.

On this occasion, His Excellency Awad Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director General Dubai Health Authority , Chairman of the Board Noor Dubai Foundation, said what the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Initiatives have achieved in the past few years, in particular Noor Dubai Foundation, is an exceptional global shift in the field of humanitarian work, as Noor Dubai has succeeded in delivering eye health care services to those in need while establishing and spreading the values of giving and peace under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him.

His Excellency added, “Since its launch as an initiative in 2008, Noor Dubai has led the efforts in the field of prevention of blindness and visual impairment globally and extended a helping hand to those in need, steaming from the belief of the importance of human capital regardless of their race, nationality or culture”.

His Excellency also mentioned that Noor Dubai has benefitted over 27 million people across Asia and Africa, through its treatment, preventive, and educational programmes to reduce the causes of visual impairment and blindness, while continuously maintaining the highest quality standards in delivering health care solutions.

His Excellency noted this prestigious award serves as a further motivation for the Noor Dubai team and volunteers to continue to strive towards serving eye care patients and sparing no effort in providing hope to those in need. Defying challenges posed, most notably the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic in countries of the world, Noor Dubai continued to deliver its eye care services and message of hope through its various programs in Sudan, Ghana, and Nigeria to name a few.

Dr. Manal Taryam, CEO & Board Member Noor Dubai Foundation, expressed her happiness with the Foundation’s achievements in recent years, and praised the importance of the Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Award for the best charitable performance in the Arab world, which provides support and motivation for charitable and humanitarian institutions to adopt quality excellence and sustainability across its activities.
