Hard to believe it’s more than a month since we launched IAPB Eye Health Technology Guide in APAO Congress, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! The evening was a great success with presentations from Dr Nor Fariza Ngah, National Head of Ophthalmology Services in Malaysia; Dr Daniel Ting, Associate Professor in Ophthalmology, DukeNUS Medical School; Jude Stern, Head of Knowledge, IAPB; Babar Qureshi, Vice President, IAPB; and Amanda Davis, Western Pacific Regional Chair, IAPB.

Here is a quick video that will give you a glimpse from the event. You can also access the digital guide here.

To all of the taskforce members who helped us develop the guide we say thank you – so many of you gave up valuable time over many months to add your expertise and real-life knowledge to the guide. It is this collective activity which makes IAPB so powerful and ensure that activities like the IAPB technology Taskforce result in useful, robust outcomes

I’d like to inform you of a change to the administration of the IAPB Technology Taskforce. Shreyashi Paik will be taking over the administration of the taskforce, while I will continue to participate in the group as an active member.

Shreyashi joined IAPB in late 2022, having joined us as an optometrist with a specialization in Binocular Vision and Vision therapy. She started her professional career in 2018 as an optometry school lecturer. She holds a Masters in Optometry from Amity University Haryana, India and a Masters in Public Health from EHESP, France. Prior to joining IAPB, she worked as a research Intern with Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp, Belgium, working on a framework for good quality care for chronic conditions.

I know you’ll join me in welcoming Shreyashi to IAPB and like me look forward to Shreyashi’s ongoing engagement with the group.

Thank you for your ongoing support and participation in the Technology Taskforce. We hope to see you during the Technology session at the IAPB Global Event in Singapore.
