Dr. Jialiang Zhao is a Professor at the Department of Medical Sciences, Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Professor Zhao, Jialiang, MD, PhD, has worked in ophthalmology for almost 40 years. He graduated from Peking Union Medical College, PUMC in 1970 and obtained his masters degree in 1981. He has also studied in the National Institutes of Health, American Institute of Ophthalmology, University of Southern California, Doheny Eye Institute and Nagoya’s Hospital.

Professor Jialiang has served as director of the Chinese Academy of Medical Science Research Center since 2001. He also served as the director of ophthalmology in the Peking Union Medical College Hospital from 2002—2005. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and has published more than 150 academic papers. He played a key role in describing solutions to glaucoma care in East Asia/Western Pacific.
