EMPOWERED INDIVIDUALS AND MOBILISED PARTNERSHIPS

Eye health is a universal cross-cutting human development issue. Therefore, it demands a cross-sectoral, multi-faceted response with people working together at all levels. Given the growing demands for eye care services, different sectors and actors must work together in an integrated manner by pooling financial resources, knowledge, technology and expertise to ensure eye care is accessible, available and affordable for everyone by 2030 and that no-one experiences unnecessary or preventable sight loss. Partnerships between governments, the private sector and civil society must be fostered and scaled up, ensuring synergies are built with other relevant development issues such as education, gender equality and decent work. By doing so, we can to tackle a critical development issue which can be solved this decade.
