For World Sight Day 2018, activities were held right across the region, proving this year’s theme “Eye Care Everywhere” has never been more apt.

In the UK World Sight Day was trending on twitter – a terrific effort from the IAPB Comms team. Of course, the sun rises on WSD out here in the Western Pacific and here’s a pic from Fiji (see on top), one of the very first celebrations of the day, where Ophthalmic Nurses launched their national Scope of Practice.

In many countries’ activities took place across the month. Here are links to view the highlights:

The Shanghai Eye Disease Prevention and Treatment Centre launched a pop-song.

PNG as always celebrated World Sight Day with month-long activities.

Launch of Korea Eye Care Working Group.

Also see this terrific localised collateral from the team at Fred Hollows Foundation New Zealand.
